DUI Court Date. What to Expect?

What Happens at a DUI Court Date?

DUI Court Date

What to Expect at Your DUI Trial Date

The mandatory pretrial is the court date that you receive after your DUI arrest. If bail is required, the court will schedule this court date 2 weeks before the trial. It will be 6 weeks if you are released from custody and you do not have to pay bail. This court date is used to review your case and to determine if your case can be tried. Your attorney will discuss with you the exceptions to this rule.

If you do not have an attorney (pro se), you will be given two court dates by the court after your arraignment. The pro-se pretrial will be your first court date. This is where you meet with the prosecutor and discuss your case. The prosecutor will bring charges against you, and may not be in your best interest.
